DK Shivkumar is making 114 feet high love of Christ in Karnataka, BJP-RSS expressed opposition

BANGALORE: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday staged a protest against the proposal to erect a 114 feet statue of Lord Jesus Christ at Kapavibetta in Kanakapura. He named it Kanakapura Chalo performance. The BJP is expecting hundreds of people to gather in Kapalibeta. The statue is a project of Congress strongman DK Shivakumar.

Shivakumar warned his supporters that, I appeal to all not to indulge in provocation or seduction. The local administration has emphasized the deployment of more than 1,000 policemen, including armed police units, to ensure peace. The village where this idol is being built is named Harobelle. It is a Christian majority village which comes under the Shivkumar assembly constituency. This community has been living here for almost 400 years. On the occasion of Christmas, Shivkumar handed over the land papers to the trust, which would take over the responsibility of erecting the statue. This statue will be made of hard granite.

On this issue, Shivkumar said, 'It is not mine but the decision of the villagers of the Christian community. As an MLA, I am helping. Land has been given for this. Everything is valid. ' This statue of Christ will be 114 feet. The statue will have stairs up to 13 feet, which have already been prepared. Let us tell you that there is a 98 feet tall statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio G Janeiro, Brazil.
