PATNA: A day after BJP's Bihar vice-president Rajib Ranajn supported the government’s prohibition policy, he resigned from the party on Friday, December 30, accusing the State unit of the BJP for deviating from PM Narendra Modi’s vision and ideals. Rajib Ranjan is likely to join ruling party JD(U) soon.

Before being suspended in 2014 for "anti-party activities," Rishab Ranjan served as a JD(U) MLA from Islampur in the Nalanda district in 2010. He then joined the BJP in August 2015. He also oversaw the BJP's media operations in Bihar.

"With heavy heart, I've resigned from primary membership and other BJP positions. The BJP in Bihar is not following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”,  Ranjan said in his letter addressed to State BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal. “The Prime Minister’s inclusive growth(sabka saath-sabka Vishwas) has become limited only to lip service.

In addition, the BJP is now dominated by those who have been against Dalits and the lower class for decades. The leaders of the backward/extremely backward and Dalit communities are just waving the party's flag, which is in opposition to the principles and policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr. Ranjan noted in the letter.
