Varanasi: Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda went to attend an event in Varanasi on Sunday. He referred to the law to eliminate triple talaq on behalf of the Modi government. During this, he counted the achievements of the government and said, "The three divorces are not in Iran, Iraq, and Syria, but there were three divorces in India." Indeed, he was addressing social workers in Varanasi.

While delivering the address, he said, "Islamic countries like Iran, Iraq, and Syria do not have three divorces, but in India it was and we used to call ourselves very progressive." He also said, "It was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who ended this injustice against Muslim sisters and abolished the practice of triple talaq." In fact, JP Nadda arrived with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath to inaugurate the newly created regional office of the party in Varanasi. In the next year, i.e. 2022 assembly elections are going to be held in Uttar Pradesh.

At the same time, BJP came to power here by winning the assembly elections in 2017. With this, in the 403-seat assembly, 309 MLAs belong to the BJP alone. The rest are Samajwadi Party 49, Bahujan Samaj Party 18 and Congress seven.
