BJP chief JP Nadda’s Manipur visit deferred

The proposed visit of BJP national president JP Nadda to Manipur has been postponed due to the recent incident in West Bengal. It is not certain now when the BJP chief will visit the state.

Nadda was earlier expected to visit Imphal on December 13 on his two-day visit to the state as a part of tour across the country.  Hotel rooms were booked for his stay in the city, while media persons were also informed in advance to prepare for a press conference prior to his departure. The state unit of the party had even prepared identity cards for the reporters who will be attending a press briefing programme during his camping in the state. Earlier, he had a plan to visit the state on December 1-2. It was later cancelled.

According to the sources, Nadda’s convoy was recently attacked by miscreants in Bengal. It is not certain now when the BJP chief will visit the state now. According to the source, The visit of BJP national president may be rescheduled after the first week of January, he added. However, chief minister N Biren Singh is confident that the BJP chief would visit the State in a few days’ time.
