Will Sourav Ganguly join PM Modi's Bengal rally? BJP gives clarification

Kolkata: Many veteran personalities are also campaigning in the proposed assembly elections in West Bengal. All political parties, from film stars to cricketers are used to cashing votes in elections. In the same sequence, Sourav Ganguly, President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is also speculating to attend a rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, the BJP has clarified this.

The BJP on Tuesday said that the former cricketer has to decide in this regard whether he wants to attend PM Modi's rally in Kolkata on March 7. BJP spokesman Shamik Bhattacharya told the press in Kolkata that if the former captain of the Indian cricket team wants to join the program and his health and weather conditions allow it, then he is welcome.

48-year-old Ganguly was discharged from the hospital on 31 January. In early January, Ganguly suffered a mild heart attack and was diagnosed with a triple vessel disease related to the heart. Thereafter, angioplasty was done twice a month to remove obstruction in the arteries leading to the heart. He also had two stents placed during the surgery.
