Mumbai: Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited the BJP to form the government in Maharashtra, but it backtracked which is being seen as the BJP's big strategy. It is being told that before getting the invitation, a two-round long meeting of the BJP was held in which BJP President Amit Shah was also consulted. Shah was added via video conferencing to the core committee meeting held at Varsha Bungalow after which it was decided that BJP will not work to form a government in Maharashtra.

Experts have to say that the BJP does not lose the opportunity to form a government in any state soon, but in Maharashtra, it has gone backward which has a big strategy behind it which can come out soon. In the assembly elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena jointly fielded their candidates and the people also gave them a majority to form the government. But after the election results came, the Shiv Sena stuck to the stubbornness of the Chief Minister's post.

The Shiv Sena put the matter of two-and-a-half-year Chief Minister's position in front of the BJP, which could not be agreed. Even after receiving the invitation, the BJP rejected the proposal to form the government, after which the governor called the Shiv Sena to form the government. The Shiv Sena claimed on Monday that the NCP and Congress had agreed to give 'in-principle support' to support its government without the BJP in Maharashtra, but it could not get letters of support from these parties before the deadline set by the governor.
