New Delhi, India: According to poll reform advocacy group Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the BJP declared assets of Rs 4,847.78 crore in the financial year 2019-20, the largest among all political parties, followed by the BSP at Rs 698.33 crore and the Congress at Rs 588.16 crore.
The ADR based its research on a review of national and regional parties' assets and liabilities in 2019-20. The total assets declared by the seven national and 44 regional parties during the financial year totaled Rs 6,988.57 crore and Rs 2,129.38 crore, respectively, according to the research.
According to the ADR report, the BJP revealed the most assets (Rs 4847.78 crore, or 69.37 percent), followed by the BSP (Rs 698.33 crore, or 9.99 percent), and the Congress (588.16 crores, or 8.42 percent). The assets of the top ten regional parties were Rs 2028.715 crore, or 95.27 percent of the total stated by all 44 parties combined.
The Samajwadi Party revealed the most assets among regional parties in FY 2019-20, at Rs 563.47 crore (26.46 percent), followed by the TRS at Rs 301.47 crore and the AIADMK at Rs 267.61 crore.
