New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday named singer Hans Raj Hans as its candidate for the North West Delhi parliamentary constituency.
BJP repleaced the name of Dr Udit Raj and filed Hans Raj Hans on its place. Hans Raj Hans will contest against AAP's Guggan Singh and Congress' Rajesh Lilothia.
Dr Udit Raj had earlier on Tuesday threatened to resign from the BJP if denied a ticket. He had said that he would file the nomination as an Independent candidate in that scenario.

On Sunday, the BJP had re-nominated four of its seven MPs from Delhi and named candidates for two other seats on Monday. Late Monday night, a scuffle was reported between the supporters of Hans Raj Hans and Dr Udit Raj in Delhi.

Earlier, In 2013, Dr Udit Raj, the ex-Indian Revenue Service officer, had resigned from his post and constituted the Indian Justice Party. A year later, he merged his party with the Bharatiya Janata Party, contested the 2014 General Elections on a BJP ticket and won.
