HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday demostrated protests across Telangana against the arrest of its state president Bandi Sanjay and other leaders. Prominent state leaders of the party sat on protests in district and mandal headquarters.

At the state BJP head office in Hyderabad, senior leader and MP K. Laxman led the protest. Party national executive members Vijayashanti, general secretary Muralidhar Rao, Indrasena Reddy and other leaders participated in the protest.

Bandi Sanjay and his supporters participated in the demonstration at his Karimnagar townhome. Despite the police's order to immediately cease it, he pledged to carry out his Praja Sangrama Yatra.

Laxman, who is also the president of the BJP's OBC Morcha, claimed that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao illegally arrested Bandi Sanjay because he was afraid of the overwhelming popular response to the Praja Sangrama Yatra.
Laxman also claimed that KCR was attempting to distract public attention because allegations have been made against Chief Minister KCR's daughter Kavitha about her alleged role in the Delhi liquor scandal.
The corruption issues involving KCR and his family members would be revealed one at a time, according to Muralidhar Rao. He said that the TRS administration was attempting to muzzle critics.

Sanjay was detained on Tuesday in the Jangaon area as he was getting ready to participate in a demonstration against the detention of BJP members who had staged a demonstration outside Kavitha's house in Hyderabad the day before.
Later, he was moved to Karimnagar where he was put under house arrest. Later, the police informed the BJP leaders that the Praja Sangrama Yatra was not authorised and requested that they stop it immediately.

Provocative remarks are being made as a result of the padyatra which has raised concerns about a breach of the peace in the Jangaon district. In order to keep the yatra going, the BJP leaders demanded Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's intervention in response to the accusations.
