Chennai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is engaged in strengthening its party ahead of the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. On Monday, film actor and former Congress leader, Khushbu Sundar joined the BJP. When she returned to Chennai on Tuesday, she attacked her old party. She has termed the Congress as a mentally weak party.

After joining the BJP, Khushbu Sundar arrived in Chennai on Tuesday, where she was greeted by activists at the airport. After that, she addressed the media. Attacking Congress state unit president KS Alagiri, Khushbu Sundarsaid that "I stayed in the Congress for six years and worked continuously for the party. But now I have left the party, I can understand that I am very happy to leave a mentally weak party".

There is an uproar over this statement of Khusbhu. Deepak Nathan, an activist working for disabled people objected to the statement. He has said that it is unfair to compare a disease with a party, disability is a part of the body, so it should not be compared to any party. On Monday, Khusbu at the BJP office in Delhi joined hands with the party. This is the third political destination of Khusbu Sundar in her political career.
