Kolkata: Assembly elections are proposed in West Bengal next year and political parties have started their preparations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is hoping to gain power in the state, has made a big claim. Mukul Roy, who joined the BJP after leaving the Trinamool Congress (TMC), says that TMC will not be able to win even 100 seats in the upcoming assembly elections.

Addressing BJP workers in Nadia district, Mukul Roy said, "I say with full responsibility that TMC will not be able to win even 100 seats in the coming elections, till now people stayed away from BJP because they were making mistake in understanding, But now it is not so.' There are a total of 294 assembly seats in Bengal and BJP has already set a target of winning more than 200 seats this time.

Addressing the workers, Mukul Roy said that now preparations have to be made for the election and no ego is to be kept. We have a long battle, Amit Shah has given us a target of winning 200 seats. We have to achieve this goal and push TMC like a left. Attacking the state government, Roy said that corruption has increased in Mamata's government, electricity has become expensive. The Modi government gave Rs 3400 crore to Bengal for the storm of Amphan, but the Mamata government did not let the poor take advantage of it.
