Mumbai: Mumbai Police has recently issued summons to former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya. In fact, the police has summoned him in relation to the FIR registered against him in connection with the alleged violation of Covid-19 rules. According to recent information, an FIR was registered against Somaiya in the suburban Santacruz police station in September last year under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) under 188. Let us tell you that Santacruz Police on Monday summoned BJP leader Somaiya to appear before him within 15 days with his written statement, otherwise legal action will be taken against him.

On the other hand, Somaiya tweeted a copy of the summons today and said, "The police of Maharashtra government led by Uddhav Thackeray has registered another case against him for visiting the "Not named" property of Minister of State Chhagan Bhujbal in Santacruz.'' On the other hand, an officer of Santacruz police station confirmed that, "Somaiya has been summoned in connection with the FIR registered against him last year, when he took away Bhujbal's bungalow in Hasnabad Lane, Santacruz (West).'' On Wednesday, Somaiya had alleged that Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, during a recent press conference, deliberately referred to the old dispute over "19 bungalows" in Korlai village of Raigad district as he was trying to build a rift between Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his family. They were not supporting him when certain allegations were leveled against him.

At the same time, the BJP leader claimed that, 'It is a known fact that Rashmi Thackeray, wife of Uddhav Thackeray, who is also the Shiv Sena chief, has written an "apology" to the Korlai gram panchayat of Raigad district in connection with the "19 bungalows" dispute.' Today i.e. on Thursday, Somaiya tweeted a copy of a letter dated May 23, 2019, claiming that Rashmi Thackeray had submitted a written application to shift some houses in Raigad in her name. Not only this but she also claimed that the information received under the Right to Information (RTI) Act shows that "Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray and Manisha Ravindra Vaykar wrote letters to Hemant Shantaram Patil, Sarpanch of Korlai village in January and May 2019. Requested transfer of houses numbered from 787 to 805.''
