New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not got the desired results in the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly elections. Now the party is constantly brainstorming on the defeat. The discussion strongly highlighted the lack of regional leadership. Senior BJP leaders at the national and Bengal level have said that the party's performance in Bengal has underlined the need to change the electoral model which is currently very dependent on the central leadership.

A senior party leader in Delhi said, "There is a need to have a strong face on the field to fight the opponents. This has been an important issue of west bengal elections. Though the party has fought most of the elections in the past without cm face, there is a perception that it does not work anymore. Though the leadership of BJP and PM Narendra Modi is popular, strong local leadership is very important. ”

Bjp in-charge of Bengal elections Kailash Vijayvargiya had said in an interview last week that lack of local face in the battle against Mamata Banerjee could be the reason for the party's loss. The second reason for the loss could be that Mamata Banerjee's leadership was huge and we could not project a local leader.
