K'taka :BJP MLA Vijay Kumar passes away due to cardiac arrest

Kumar, who was seeking re-election for third time, collapsed during his election campaign on Thursday evening.

Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Jayanagar, B. N. Vijay Kumar passed away here at wee hours on Friday due to cardiac arrest. He was 60 year-old.

Kumar, who was seeking re-election, collapsed during his election campaign on Thursday evening. Following this, he had been rushed to the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology where he died at 1 a.m. on the following day.

The two-time MLA from Jayanagar, Vijay Kumar, was a single. Kumar was a civil engineering graduate. He was recognized for his simplicity and gentle etiquettes.

The gem of a person Kumar collapsed during election campaign on Thursday night and was admitted to the super speciality hospital Jayadeva Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Research Centre as The Hindu reported, where he took his last breath.

Kumar was one of the well-known legislators of his party and had represented Jayanagar constituency twice.  He was looking for a hat-trick in the upcoming May 12 assembly elections in opposition to Karnataka home minister R Ramalinga Reddy's daughter Soumya Reddy.

On a related note Vijay Kumar had joined the BJP in 1990 and was known as kind man due to his sober and down-to-earth nature.
