NEW DELHI: In the midst of controversy over the suspected education scandal in the nation's capital, five BJP MLAs were suspended from the Delhi Assembly on Thursday for one day.

The BJP attempted to pressure the Kejriwal administration over its suspected involvement in an education scandal and its policy on alcohol, but the AAP "retaliated" by accusing the saffron party of directing "Operation Lotus" throughout the nation.

The Aaam Aadmi Party also accused Delhi L-G Vinay Kumar Saxena of the Rs 1400 crore scam when he was the President of Khadi Gramodyog.

AAP MLAs have been conducting candle marches to demand an investigation into the allegations against the L-G for the past three days. On the other hand, BJP supporters demonstrated outside the Assembly on Thursday against the "wrong liquor policy" of the Delhi government.
AAP MLA Atishi said that her party has sought a timeframe from the President to discuss "Operation Lotus".
Party MLA and spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said: "We won't stop till the Central government accedes to our demand for a fair investigation." He claimed that in order to get the CBI to look into the alleged Rs 1400 crore scandal, AAP MLAs have made the decision to spend the night in the Delhi Assembly.

The BJP was accused by AAP MLAs of overthrowing non-BJP governments in the states by intimidating or enticing them with money. They claimed that the BJP had already abducted 277 MLAs and was preparing to exchange its other 40 legislators.

Durgesh Pathak, an AAP lawmaker, claimed that the BJP spent more than Rs 6,300 crore on the theft of 277 legislators and called for an investigation.

AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar said that the BJP increases price of fuel and GST on milk and curd and then uses the money for horse trading MLAs.
