JAIPUR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to address BJP OBC morcha meet in Jodhpur on September 10, party sources confirmed here on Tuesday. The national working committee of the party's OBC morcha will meet from September 8 to 10.

Party sources said that this can be attributedas an attempt to woo OBC voters for the forthcoming Assembly elections in 2023 and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

K. Laxman, national president of the morcha and a member of the legislative board, would be in charge of the event. State Morcha Presidents from all over the nation will go to Rajasthan to take part in the event.

On this occasion, Laxman would instruct the OBC workers at the Mandal level of OBC concerns regarding the elections. They will also collect data regarding issues in their immediate area. The ground-level report will be delivered to J.P. Nadda, the party's president. The electoral strategy for the upcoming elections will be devised based on this report.
The home minister will speak at a convention of 20,000 booth presidents and office bearers of booth committees from the districts in the Jodhpur division on September 10.

Because more than 50 OBC MLAs are elected from this area, Jodhpur was chosen as the location for the National Working Committee of the OBC Morcha meeting. 15 OBC MLAs now represent Jodhpur division, 11 of whom are affiliated with the Congress and 4 with the BJP. In such a situation, the BJP has begun to mobilise the large voting base and has opted to begin operations in Jodhpur, the district where Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is from.
Nadda, the party's national president, may also speak at the OBC Morcha and Booth Sammelan conventions, according to reports.

These events are likely to be attended by BJP MPs, MLAs, Morcha officials, and booth presidents from the six districts of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Pali, Jalore, and Sirohi in addition to the state office holders of the Rajasthan BJP OBC Morcha.
