Ahmedabad: On the last day of his two-day visit to Gujarat, PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several development projects in Bhuj. During this, the Prime Minister while addressing the people said that today the mind is full of many emotions. The dedication of the Smritivan Memorial in Bhuj and the Veer Balak Memorial at Anjar is a symbol of the common anguish of Kutch, Gujarat and of the entire country.

PM Modi further said that not only effort has been made in its construction, but the tears of many families have also watered its stones. The Prime Minister said that today the foundation stone for Kutch development and other projects worth more than Rs 4,000 crore have also been inaugurated. These include projects related to water, electricity, roads and dairy. This shows the commitment of the double engine government for the development of Kutch in Gujarat.

He further said that on January 26, when the earthquake in Kutch occurred, I was in Delhi at that time and I had reached Kutch on the second day itself. Then I was not the Chief Minister, I was a simple worker. I didn't know how and how many people I would be able to help. But, I decided that I will be here in the midst of all of you. The work that has happened in Kutch since its complete destruction in 2001 is unimaginable. Krantiguru Shyamji Krishnavarma University was instituted in 2003 in Kutch, while more than 35 new colleges have also been established.
