New Delhi: BJP MP and veteran actress Hema Malini on Thursday stated that she could be a Chief Minister if she desires to, in a 'minute'.

"Main bana chahoon toh ek minute main ban sakti hoon (I can become Chief Minister in a minute if I desire to), but I don't like to be tied up. Mere jo free movements hain wo ruk jayenge (My freedom will get affected): BJP's Hema Malini on being asked if she wants to be the CM," Basanti fame actress was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

"I am not too keen, the BJP MP from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh told reporters in Rajasthan's Banswara city- news agency PTI reported. "If I want to I can become that in a minute, but I don't like to be tied up. My freedom of movement will end,"  Hema Malini further said.

She added that she became the Member of Parliament as her career as an actor. "I am known mainly because of my name in Bollywood, call it 'dream girl' or Hema Malini," she continued.

 The well known Bharatanatyam dancer, Malini also said that she loved working for the ‘Brijwasi’ people and she called Mathura constituency the city of Lord Krishna. Admiring Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government initiative, She said: "he has worked for farmers, women and the poor, and the country had progressed under his leadership".

A Padma Shri awardee noted that it is difficult to find a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi. Leaders of opposition parties may say whatever they think but we call for to see who has done more work for the nation.

Hema Malini was in Banswara to perform at a spiritual gathering- as the PTI reported.
