Kolkata: After the implementation of the NRC in West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to start a new initiative for the Hindu people living there. The BJP through its women's wing will reach out to the charities living in Bengal and will send a letter to PM Modi urging him to bring the Citizen Amendment Bill in the Winter Session and pass it in the House so that the Hindu Charitans living in West Bengal to be given citizenship.

BJP MP from Hooghly, Locket Chatterjee has said that 'Mamata Banerjee and her government are confusing the people of Bengal that if NRC will apply in Bengal then Hindus who come here from Bangladesh or other countries will be expelled from the country. Whereas the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that all the Hindu Refugees living in the country will be given citizenship of India.

Chatterjee further said, 'Our team will go everywhere in Bengal and all Hindus who came to our country from outside country will be given citizenship under Citizen Amendment Bill. Taking this message, they will meet the residents living here and through a letter from all those people, they will request PM Modi to bring the Citizen Amendment Bill in the winter session and get it passed.
