New Delhi: During the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said in its resolution letter to get the revolutionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar the Bharat Ratna. On this, senior Congress leader Manish Tiwari said that why BJP / NDA wants to give Bharat Ratna, Savarkar only? Why not Nathuram Godse, the assassin of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi?

Manish Tiwari has said that Savarkar was accused in the murder of Mahatma Gandhi. A charge sheet was filed against him, but he was later acquitted. But Nathuram Godse was found guilty and hanged as a punishment. In such a situation, if you want to erase his memories on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, then openly do this work completely.

Let me tell you that earlier, veteran Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh has also attacked the BJP's promise. Digvijay Singh has said that Veer Savarkar had two aspects of his life, in the first he apologized to the British and his participation in the freedom fight after returning from prison and in the second aspect his involvement in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
