BJP MP Ramapati Tripathi accused of threatening councilor in UP

Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramapati Ram Tripathi in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh has been accused of threatening and indecency of the councillor. The councillor says that he was opposing the installation of a statue of the late Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mohan Singh in Deoria. While Ramapati Ram Tripathi forbade the councillor to oppose.

As per the allegations levelled by the councillor, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramapati Ram Tripathi threatened him and asked him to withdraw from the case. According to the allegations, the MP also pressured him to withdraw the proposal and threatened not to stay in the city if he did not do so. After this, the councillor has requested to protect CM Yogi Adityanath.

In a letter written to CM Yogi Adityanath, Councilor Ashutosh Tiwari said, "I am a Bharatiya Janata Party worker for the last 15 years. I am also the booth president." He said that the auditorium, which was to be built in the name of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is now being built in the name of late MP Mohan Singh. While the proposal to construct the auditorium in the name of Vajpayee has been passed.
