Kolkata: BJP MP Soumitra Khan has recently hit out at West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. In fact, recently, he said, "Mamata Banerjee uses everyone. Mahua Moitra will also not stay there (in TMC) for long as they will not get tickets from TMC after two years. Recently, MP Soumitra Khan said, "Only the position of her (TMC chief Mamata Banerjee) nephew can be maintained forever in the TMC. On the other hand, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had last Saturday accused the Mamata Banerjee government of not providing the information sought on the Howrah Municipal Corporation (HMC) Amendment Bill. The Bill has been referred to the Governor for concurrence. The Howrah Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2021 proposes to de-segregate The Bally Municipality from the jurisdiction of HMC. It was recently passed in the state assembly. The Governor had also alleged that "Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee has accused him of not signing the Bill and stopping it. '

The Governor has termed it as "unfortunate". Dhankhar, after meeting Padma Shri awardee cartoonist Narayan Devnath at his residence in Howrah, said, "I had sought information on the Bill on 24th November but after that, I did not get this information. The Speaker accused me of not signing the Bill and holding it up. Their remarks are unfortunate. I urge them to maintain the dignity of the office.''
