Puducherry: After the fall of the Narayanasamy government led by the Congress-led coalition in Puducherry, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has responded by saying that it will not claim to form the government. BJP has said that with the fall of Narayansamy's government, the worst chapter of the Union Territory has ended. It is being told that assembly elections can be held in the state in April-May.
Puducherry CM Narayanasamy could not prove majority in the assembly and he along with his supporting MLAs walked out of the House. After this, the Puducherry government fell in a minority, and then later CM Narayanasamy also submitted his resignation to the Lieutenant Governor. In the assembly, CM Narayanasamy attacked former Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, the Central Government. He said that Bedi and the central government conspired with the opposition to topple the government.
After the Puducherry government failed to prove a majority, the BJP unit president in the state, V Saminathan, told the media, "We will not try to form a government at this stage. With the blessings of the people in the upcoming elections and led by Modiji, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) along with the BJP and its alliance partners will form the government in May and bring a new bright future for the people of Puducherry.''
