The BJP has lodged a complaint with the election commission against CM Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal on her remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and demanded legal action against her. A BJP delegation accused CM Shah of launching a "campaign to defame." Banerjee recently alleged during a rally in Bankura on March 16 that Shah was influencing the election commission. "Who is running the election commission, are you running the election commission?" she said at the rally.

The BJP further said that Banerjee had alleged that Shah was plotting in Kolkata and tried to tarnish the image of the home minister and other senior party leaders. The BJP said, "A campaign has been launched to tarnish the image and prestige of Amit Shah and other senior BJP leaders. It is intended to spread misinformation and thus influence voters in the wrong way.''

BJP seeks legal action against Mamata: The language used by Banerjee has not only spoiled the electoral environment but also further enhanced the incentive to further reduce the level of propriety by supporting Trinamool Congress workers. The BJP party urged the election commission to immediately stop Banerjee from further speeches and to conduct appropriate legal inquiries against her current and past for "model contempt, model code of conduct and gross violation of electoral laws."

He said that we request the election commission to take appropriate legal action against Mamata Banerjee and appropriate legal action is going to be taken to pass prohibitory orders, otherwise, it can spoil the electoral environment, where abuses and spreading false news have become inevitable and ideal.
