In a major initiative, the state BJP leadership has installed a dropbox outside its headquarters. The party has done this work in view of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections. In which any person willing to contest elections can submit his resume (CV). A senior party leader said that the prospective candidate is not necessarily a party worker.

He said that such a person who is popular in his area and has a good image, anyone can submit his resume. BJP national secretary and former state president Rahul Sinha said, we know that there are many people who want to contest on the BJP ticket but they do not know where to go for it, whom to meet. He said that the BJP, which believes in the true spirit of democracy, wants to give him a chance to apply for candidature.

In his statement, Sinha further said that this drop box has already been installed outside the state BJP office five days ago and it will remain for several days. He said that we will check the applications at the appropriate time, in which the details of the candidates are there. The BJP leader said that the dropbox has not been opened yet, in this case, nothing is known about how many bio-data have come in the last five days. If asked whether this initiative will be taken in other municipal corporations or districts besides Kolkata. On this, he said that at present, this exercise is only for the democratic and transparent selection of candidates in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections, which is the identity of the BJP. He said that those who want to contest on the party ticket in the districts will have to come to the district office.
