Udaipur: On Friday, on Friday BJP selected Vijay Rupani as Gujarat's new chief minister, a move that bears the risk-taking style of party president Amit Shah as well as his ever-growing heft.

The Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel today claimed that Vijay Rupani, was a loyalist of Amit Shah and that all the work in the state will now be carried out on the BJP President's orders.

Patel said, "Rupani will be the Chief Minister of Gujarat just for the sake of it. All the work will be virtually done by Amit Shah".

By choosing not to replace Anandiben with another Patel, the party can hope to attract others, especially OBCs who are resentful of the dominant community trying to muscle its way into the quota scheme despite enjoying enormous economic and social clout.
