Delhi Liquor policy scam: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader today, March 13, staged a silent sit-in at Rajghat, demanding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation over the alleged Excise Policy scam case.

At the demonstration at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial, Virendra Sachdeva, the working president of the BJP's Delhi chapter, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, the leader of the opposition in the assembly, and other party members appealed for the Kejriwal administration to use common sense.

With the arrest of former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in connection with alleged irregularities linked to the implementation of the now-scrapped Excise Policy, 2021–2022, the BJP has intensified its criticism of the Kejriwal administration. After Lt. Governor VK Saxena urged a CBI investigation into the alleged rule breach and shortcomings in its implementation, the local government revoked the policy last year.

To protest the arrest of party leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain on corruption accusations, the AAP has launched signature and door-to-door campaigns.

In the presence of Gopal Rai, the Delhi convenor for the AAP, the campaigns got underway close to the metro stop in Laxmi Nagar. Jain and Sisodia were allegedly detained to halt the Delhi government's beneficial efforts in health and education, according to the AAP. The AAP wants to inform the public about the "false cases" filed against Sisodia and Jain through these efforts.

Previously on March 9, after spending hours being questioned over the Delhi liquor policy fraud, Sisodia was once more taken into custody, this time by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He has already been placed in judicial detention at Delhi's Tihar jail until March 20. According to officials, Sisodia was detained by the ED on suspicion of money laundering related to the excise policy issue. On Thursday, the ED interrogated the former deputy CM of Delhi for more than six hours over the liquor policy that has since been abandoned.
