Chennai: In the wake of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, AIADMK on Sunday released a manifesto with huge election promises to woo the public and give a boost to DMK. Before the rest of the party's promises, it is necessary to talk about the promise that has raised its ally BJP's uneasiness. In fact, AIADMK has said in its election manifesto that it will urge its ally BJP to repeal the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The promise of AIADMK is being considered as an electoral pantry to grab the votes of the minorities. His promise has raised the BJP's headache for passing the CAA. His promise in the 163 points of manifesto released by AIADMK on Sunday has become the most discussed topic. AIADMK's main anti-party DMK chief MK Stalin said on Sunday that his party will continue to request the central government to repeal the controversial CAA law on Sri Lankan Tamils living in refugee camps in India and grant them citizenship. He further said that the district magistrate has been against this controversial law since its inception. On this, the party had also launched a campaign in the state and signed 1 crore people in favor of repealing the law.

The BJP is not able to digest the criticism about the CAA. BJP general secretary CT Ravi said, "There is no question of canceling the CAA. DMK chief Stalin says he will continue his war on CAA. Why is Stalin opposing the CAA, while this law will give citizenship to the oppressed Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians of Pakistan and other countries?"
