BJP leaders face heavy opposition to CAA, 2 leaders suspended

Maharashtra BJP, one of the developed states of India, has suspended the chairperson of the city council and the deputy head of another local body who recently passed resolutions against the amended citizenship law (CAA). The BJP is ruling in the city council. BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhyay posted suspension letters on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

According to the media report, the party has suspended Salod Municipal Council Chairperson Vinod Barode and Deputy Chief of Palam Municipal Council Balasaheb Rokde based in Parbhani.

Regarding the matter, BJP state president Chandrakant Patil said in letters that both the party leaders have shown indiscipline by voting against the CAA, so they have been suspended from the party. The letters do not mention the suspension period.

Secondly, the Hindu-Sikh Jagriti Sena will support the Saffron March and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on 25 March. Officials met in the circuit house regarding the preparations for the event. In this, Organization President Praveen Dung said that strict action should be taken against those protesting against the CAA.
