BJP Telangana to begin state-wide protests against 'TRS oppression'

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party's Telangana unit has planned to hold state-wide protests today in response to "atrocities, murders, and abetment of suicides by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) officials" in various parts of the district, according to a statement released by the party on Tuesday.

This came after a BJP activist named Sai Ganesh purportedly committed himself in Khammam, Telangana. After a teleconference with the party's state and district-level leaders on Tuesday, BJP Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay Kumar agreed to initiate state-wide demonstrations.

"Everyone, regardless of political inclinations, should condemn the TRS leaders' actions," Sanjay SAID.  He urged party members to hold black flag rallies and demonstrations in all district headquarters on Wednesday. "Since he was on a padayatra, there was no way he could participate in the rallies," he continued. He did, however, vow that he would perform a protest 'deeksha' at the yatra camp near Saddalonipalle hamlet in Gadwal assembly constituency from 9 a.m. to 9.30 a.m., carrying black flags and wearing black badges.

A BJP team will also meet with Governor Tamilisai Soundarrajan at Raj Bhavan to present her with a letter requesting a CBI investigation into the ruling TRS's atrocities, including the death of BJP worker Sai Ganesh in Khammam town.
