New Delhi: BJP leader Suraj Pal Amu on Saturday showered his anger towards West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who in recent times extended her support to Bhansali and Padukone concerning the hullabaloo surrounding the movie ‘Padmavati’.
Amu’s declaration comes even after saffron party just issued a show-cause notice to him and asked him to make clear his obnoxious comments against Padukone and Bhansali.
BJP leader Amu had attempted fierce threats in concerning to Padmavati hullabaloo, first declaring a bounty of Rs 10 crores for Padukone’s head and then declaring that members of the Rajput community will burn down every theatre if the film aired in the nation.
Threatening Banerjee for her stand on the Padmavati concern, Amu cited the legend of Lord Lakshman cut off Surpanaka’s nose in a bid to teach her a lesson. As per Ramayan myths, Surpanaka was the sister of Ravana, the evil king of Lanka.
“I came to know Mamata Banerjee has hailed Sanjay Leela Bhansali to Kolkata. And I want to tell her that this is the land of Lord Ram’s brother, Lakshman. And I don’t need to state what Lakshman did to Surpanaka,” Amu said while attending a public meeting.
