The central government has expressed deep concern on the ongoing violence in West Bengal on Sunday, saying that violence is a failure of the Mamata government in the state even after the Lok Sabha elections. In consultation to the West Bengal government, the Home Ministry has asked the state Government to maintain law and order, peace and public tranquillity. "The ongoing violence in the last few weeks seems to be a failure of the state's law enforcement machinery to maintain law and order in the state," the advisory said.
