The BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting was held on Saturday to finalize the list of candidates for the assembly elections to be held in 4 states and one union territory. In which all senior leaders including PM Narendra Modi, Party President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah attended. Former West Bengal Forest Minister Rajib Banerjee, who joined the BJP from TMC, said that the list of candidates is going to be released today.

After the IC meeting, Kerala BJP President K Surendran said that the BJP will contest 115 seats in the state. The remaining 25 seats are going to be fielded by the allies. However, it was made clear by the party that their focus would be Bengal. In the first list of candidates announced by the party, the names of candidates contesting the seats related to the first two phases of Assam and West Bengal assembly elections have been revealed. Voting will take place in 3 phases in Assam and 8 phases in West Bengal. Elections will be held in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry in the same phase on April 6.

It has been learned that BJP is making all efforts to win the elections in 5 states. The party's star campaigners are regularly holding public meetings in electoral states. In view of this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to be on a 2-day visit to Assam and West Bengal from Sunday, where he is going to attend public events besides addressing public meetings. According to the information received, Shah will address two public meetings in Margarita and Nazira in Assam on Sunday. After which he will leave for Bengal and will do a roadshow in Kharagpur in the evening.

Amit Shah to hold a public meeting in West Bengal on Monday: On Monday, Shah is going to address public meetings in Jhargram and Raniband of West Bengal and then will leave for Guwahati. There he is to address the town hall program. Senior party leaders said that Shah and BJP president JP Nadda may also meet the families of 129 party workers in West Bengal who have been allegedly killed in political violence in the last 5 years.
