Gangtok: Along with the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, by-elections were also held in many states of the country. For which the counting of votes continues today. After the initial trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be making gains in Haryana and Maharashtra. Although the BJP does not seem to get a majority in Haryana, it looks certain to form the NDA government in Maharashtra. On the other hand, if you talk about UP by-election, then it seems to be taking an edge here.
At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is moving towards a great victory, making history in the Sikkim Assembly by-election. After the second phase of vote counting in Martam-Rumtek constituency under the former district, BJP candidate Sonam Bhenchungpa is leading. He has got 2559 votes. BJP has not been able to win the election here yet, if this time the BJP wins the election then this victory will be very important.
Sonam's closest rival Sikkim Prajatantrik Morcha candidate Nuk Chiring Bhutia got 695 votes, Hamro Sikkim Party candidate Neema Lepcha got 264 and Sikkim Republican Party candidate Mingma Chiring Sherpa 69, Independent candidate Dr Michung Bhutia 143 and Pansag Sherpa 105 votes.
