Kolkata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has also attacked the central government over the Agneepath scheme. He has levelled serious allegations against the Centre and said that the BJP is preparing its own armed forces under the scheme. Mamata Banerjee further said, "What will these Agniveers do after four years? The BJP wants to put weapons in the hands of the youth. Mamata Banerjee also reacted sharply to BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya's statement.

In fact, Vijayvargiya had said that agniveers will be given priority while giving the responsibility of security of BJP offices. Mamata Banerjee has questioned whether the BJP is preparing to make Agniveers watchmen in its offices. Earlier, Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy had also described the Agneepath scheme as the agenda of the RSS. Kumaraswamy had said that the RSS was preparing that 75 per cent of the 10 lakh people who came out of the Agneepath scheme would be spread across the country.

The JDS leader had made serious allegations and said that the Agneepath scheme is the agenda of the RSS. They want to capture the army. Kumaraswamy had said that there will be RSS men both on the inside and outside of the Army. The BJP hit back at the statement, calling it an insult to the Army.
