Kolkata: The body of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker has been found hanging from a tree in West Bengal's Birbhum district. The body of BJP worker Purna Chandra Nag has been found hanging from a tree in the Baroturi area under the Mallapur police station of Birbhum. Villagers say that the snake was killed and the body was hung on a tree.

The BJP has blamed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the murder. In such a situation, an atmosphere of political tension may arise once again in the state. At present, the investigation into the case has started and the police have sent the body of the activist for post-mortem. Family sources say that Purna Chandra Nag was a daily wage labourer and used to run the house by doing petty chores. Even before the last assembly elections, he had started supporting the BJP.

However, he had never actively participated in Siasat. According to information, Purnachandra had left home on Monday evening from some work, but he did not return and his body was found hanging from a tree on Tuesday morning. After the body was found hanging from the tree, the villagers told the police, after which it was taken off and sent for post-mortem.
