West Bengal: BJP worker wife raped in Nandigram

Kolkata: A case raping the wife of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker in Tentul Bari area of ​​Nandigram Block No. 2 in East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The incident took place on Monday (March 29, 2021). Allegedly, the BJP leader was busy in programs with party candidate Shubhendu Adhikari from Nandigram all day when his wife was raped.

According to local sources, the victim's husband is an active BJP worker in the area. On Monday, when he returned home after settling Shubhendu Adhikari's program, he could not see his wife anywhere. When they searched, she was lying unconscious in the canal near the house. His hands, feet, mouth were tied with her sari. With great difficulty, they were evacuated from the canal with the help of the people around.

After this, he was admitted to Reyapara Rural Hospital. When the condition worsened, he was sent to Tamluk District Hospital for treatment. His condition remains fragile right now. The BJP has accused TMC of raping its worker's wife and attempting to murder her. The party says that all this was done to spread fear in the area.
