In the Amjadnagar district of South Tripura, at least five BJP workers were injured after being attacked by villagers. The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night after BJP workers allegedly attacked CPI-M workers and attempted to set fire to the opposition party's local offices.

The injured BJP members were sent to the Belonia district hospital for treatment immediately. Meanwhile, the CPI-M and the BJP have filed FIRs in a local police station, accusing each other of being involved in the incident. The incident has prompted police to initiate a probe. However, no arrests have been made by the police as of now. To de-escalate the existing tensions, security in the region has been beefed up with the deployment of more forces.

Tensions between the two parties have been boiling in the Amjadnagar district of South Tripura since Saturday morning, when BJP activists allegedly attempted to interrupt a CPI-M programme. The CPI-M has also accused BJP supporters of attacking the homes of two local Leftist politicians.
