28 year old Tejasvi Surya, who is the youngest first-time Member of Parliament, elected in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election 2019 on BJP ticket, Saturday took to Twitter and posted a selfie with his favourite leader Smriti Irani in the central hall of the Parliament. All the newly-elected MPs Saturday gathered in the central hall of Parliament to formally elect PM Narendra Modi as their leader. Sharing his selfie with Smriti Irani and Devendra Fadnavis, Tejasvi Surya said, "Oh man!! I had waited for this selfie with my favourite Smriti Irani ji from such a long time."
Holding responsibility of General Secretary of BJP youth wing, Tejasvi fought 2019 election from prestigious Bangalore South seat and defeated Rajya Sabha MP and veteran Congress leader BK Hariprasad by a huge margin of 3,31,192 votes. Tejasvi Surya grabbed 7,39,229 votes, while BK Hariprasad won 4,08,037 votes.
Bangalore South is one of the high-profile seats in the country being represented multiple times by Ananth Kumar of BJP, who passed away recently. Tejasvi who was present at the central hall of the parliament Saturday where PM Modi delivered his maiden speech after being elected as leader of the BJP-NDA, took a selfie with his favourite leader Smriti Irani and shared on his Twitter page.
"Oh man!! I had waited for this selfie with my favourite Smriti Irani ji from such a long time. So many countless hours I have spent hearing her speeches and interviews," Tejasvi Surya said. "Her victory in Amethi only reinforces our faith in democracy. Smriti Ji you are a rockstar!" he added.
After being elected as the first-time Member of Parliament, Tejasvi Surya said, "My first task as MP-elect was to pay pranams to my childhood hero Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Tejasvi Surya has been an inspiration to many young people who aspire to be a politician and is considered as the next big thing in the saffron outfit. During his so far political career, Tejasvi is known for his hard-hitting speeches targetting the Congress and the Gandhi family and how the grand old party ruled India for decades. He is a regular in the BJP intellectual circle in many of the Southern states and is part of the national social media team of the party. After getting a ticket from the Bangalore South constituency, Tejasvi couldn't hide his emotion and excitement.
Praising PM Modi following his Parliament central hall speech Saturday when he addressed all the newly elected MPs speech after he was formally elected as BJP-NDA leader, Tejasvi said, "What a day! Sitting in famed Central Hall of Parliament & listening to India's epochal man PM Narendra Modi." ejasvi further said, "One reason why young India loves PM Narendra Modi & the BJP is because of the immense faith they place in the young." "It is only in the BJP that you will find young, educated, dynamic, rooted & meritorious Chief Ministers like Devendra Fadnavis and Pramod Swant."
