Chennai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Khushboo Sundar said on Wednesday, 'Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader T Thirumavalavan's alleged remarks about women and Manusmriti will not be accepted as it was not correct and now anyone would avoid reading a book. ' "Whatever argument Thirumavalavan makes is irrelevant and will not be accepted because it is absolutely irrelevant to say anything about a book written over 3,700 years ago," she said in a conversation with a website.

Apart from this, she also said that it was very unfair for her to choose this book. There are a lot of books about other issues. Even in Manusmriti, there are many issues that speak about the development and empowerment of women. But he spoke about it in a way that is not necessary at all in these times. She also posed a few questions, which included, 'Is he accusing his colleagues of treating women the way they were described.'

She also said, 'Now who is using Manusmriti? Is Tirumavalvan trying to say that the people of this country are still following Manusmriti and are so backward? His colleagues also follow Hinduism. Is he trying to say that they treat women like that? If they do not follow the book, then why are they putting it in front of the public and asking them to ban it? ' She was detained by the police earlier, after which she was discussed a lot.
