Bhopal: The havoc of corona virus epidemic in the country is now diminishing but black fungus is causing panic. Now cases of this infection are increasing rapidly. In Madhya Pradesh, the disease has been declared as an epidemic. Yes, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a review meeting on the situation in Corona in the state last Friday. After the meeting, he said that black fungus is declared as an epidemic in the state. He also said, "His government will ensure that whoever is affected in the state is provided with the best treatment arrangements".

At the same time, he said, "Every effort will be made to ensure that there is no shortage of supply of amphotericin-B, the drug used to treat black fungus". Let us tell all of you that with the declaration of black fungus as an epidemic, guidelines have been put in place for all private and government hospitals in the State. At the same time, the supply of medicines required for its treatment will be ensured from the Centre and the State level. It is currently being treated in five medical colleges in the state. Let us also tell all of you that many black fungus patients are coming up in many other areas including the capital Bhopal in the state and the State Government has provided free treatment to black fungus patients in government hospitals.

Why this disease declared as an epidemic- let us tell all of you that states that declare a disease as an epidemic have to keep track of cases, treatment, medicines and disease deaths. Further, all cases are reported to the Chief Medical Officer.
