Bodies of 10 remaining chopper crash victims identified, cremation of five held

Coonoor: The mortal remaining bodies of the remaining 10 army personnel who lost their lives in a helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu have been identified and 5 of them are to be cremated with full military honours in their home areas on Saturday. 13 people including Chief Defence Chairman (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and his defence advisor Brigadier LS Liddar were killed when an Air Force helicopter crashed on Wednesday.

General Rawat, his wife and Brigadier Liddar have been cremated at the Brar Square funeral site in Delhi Cantonment on Friday. Junior Warrant Officer (JWO) A Pradeep, Wing Commander P S Chauhan, JWO Rana Pratap Das, Squadron Leader Kuldeep Singh and Lance Naik Vivek Kumar were cremated afternoon on Saturday while the last rites of Lance Naik B Sai Teja are scheduled to be held on Sunday i.e. today.

According to officials, his mortal remains are scheduled to be taken from Delhi to Sulur Air Force Station in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu at around 11 am and then taken by road to his village in Kerala. Thousands of people were present on the roadside to pay homage to the departed soldier.

Pradeep's mortal remains were kept at his school in Puthur at around 3 pm where hundreds of people paid homage.  After which his mortal remains were taken to his residence. After which the son gave the father a mask. Indian Air Force Wing Commander Prithvi Singh Chauhan has been cremated with full military honours at Tajganj crematorium in Agra on Saturday.

The mortal remains of Indian Air Force personnel Chauhan have been transported to the crematorium in an army vehicle where he was saluted. Chauhan's son Aviraj (7), daughter Aaradhya (12) and a relative Pushpendra Singh have been cremated in the presence of family members, IAF, Agra administration and police officials. Wing Commander Chauhan's daughter Aaradhya has said that she wants to follow in her father's footsteps and wants to become a pilot in the Air Force. Squadron leader Kuldeep Singh was cremated in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan on Saturday with full military honours. A large number of people have bid a final farewell to Singh with moist eyes.

The mortal remains of Kuldeep Singh, who lost his life in the accident, have reached Jhunjhunu airport by helicopter from Delhi on Saturday morning where public representatives, administrative officials have paid floral tributes to him. His mortal remains were taken to his native village Ghadana Khurd in a truck decorated with flowers from The Indian Air Force. A large number of villagers present there bid a final farewell to Kuldeep with moist eyes on Saturday evening. He has been given a mask by his wife Yashaswini.

Squadron Leader Kuldeep Singh was given a final farewell with full military honours. Meanwhile, slogans of 'Vande Mataram', 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Kuldeep Amar Rahe' were heard echoing repeatedly. Lance Naik Vivek Kumar was cremated with full military honours in his native village in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. He was bid a final farewell by a large number of people at the crematorium in Theru village of Jaisinghpur.
