Actress Kangana Ranaut has been in discussions for quite some time. She and her sister Rangoli Chandel filed a petition in the Bombay High Court on Monday demanding the cancellation of an FIR registered against them. The FIR has been registered against both by the Mumbai Police. The Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear the same FIR today. This FIR was filed through social media posts on charges of inciting hatred and communal tension in society.

The Bombay High Court is also going to hear Kangana's property demolition case which is on 27 November. The decision will come on this day. Kangana has also been accused of treason. The magistrate court had directed the police to investigate against Kangana and her sister. Kangana's lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui said that "Kangana and Rangoli have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court to quash the order of the FIR and the magistrate."

In this petition, it has been requested that the summons issued for appearing before the police for questioning should also be stayed and the police should be directed not to take punitive action against them. Mumbai Police had issued summons to Kangana and her sister for the third time last week and asked them to record their statements on 23 and 24 November for allegedly promoting enmity between the two communities.
