Kumkum acted in more than 100 films in his Bollywood career. She was a great actress.

She worked in Mr X in Bombay (1964), Mother India (1957), Son of India (1962), Kohinoor (1960), Ujala, Naya Daur, Shriman Funtush, Ek Sapera, Ek Lootera". Kumkum had worked with many stars of her era. This includes the names of Kishore Kumar and Guru Dutt. Kumkum gave a brilliant performance in the first Bhojpuri film 'Ganga Maiya Tohe Piyari Chadibo' (1963), after which she was liked by the people.
