The Rajasthan High Court on Friday ordered the quashing of an FIR lodged against Bollywood film producer Boney Kapoor on charges of duping an investor of Rs 2.5 crore in the name of organising a Celebrity Cricket League.

According to the report, the alleged victim Praveen Shyam Sethi, a resident of Ramnagaria in Jagatpura, filed an FIR against three people (Signature Cricket League directors Mustafa Raj and Pawan Jangid) in June this year and during this time the victim said that "He was promised unrealistic returns on investing in the Celebrity Cricket League and was allegedly cheated."

With this, the complainant and his friend invested a large amount in the league but the league was not organized and then an FIR was lodged at Pratap Nagar police station. In his petition in this matter, Boney Kapoor said that "he knows Mustafa and so he attended the press conference on his request, but for this he never took money."

Now in this case, the court had reserved its verdict on September 16 after hearing both the parties and on Friday, the court in its decision has ordered the removal of Boney Kapoor's name from the FIR.
