Booked XUV700? This is how Mahindra is delivering your car

Since reservations for the Mahindra XUV700 started on October 7, the SUV has garnered a tremendous reaction. In the two weeks afterwards, the firm has received 65,000 bookings for the XUV700 SUV, with the delivery of the petrol model set to begin on October 30. Those who have reserved a diesel model will have to wait until the latter week of November at the earliest.

Making a reservation for a Mahindra XUV700 is simply the beginning of the process, since delivery timelines may become a challenge in the current environment due to demand. Mahindra said in a press release that it has teamed up with a "top" global consultant firm to simplify the whole delivery process. The cooperation will attempt to design and implement an algorithm-based method, according to the business.

Mahindra goes on to say that when determining delivery dates, a number of criteria would be taken into account. These include the number of bookings at the city and dealer level, the ratio of online to dealer counter bookings, and variant-level manufacturing viability due to supply chain limitations.

While the current Christmas season is expected to help Mahindra generate more orders, the overarching problem of semiconductor scarcity affects nearly every automaker in India and throughout the world. While Mahindra is confident in its ability to overcome the problem, several of its other popular models, notably the Thar, are subject to lengthy wait times.

While the upgraded Thar was released in 2020 and has been warmly received, the XUV700 appears to have taken centre stage in Mahindra's product lineup. With a long list of varied rivals, XUV700 would hope to sustain demand even as Mahindra works out the production and delivery workflows.
