Border Sec Force seizes huge cache of narcotics in Tripura

NEW DELHI: Officials claimed on Tuesday that alert Border Security Force (BSF) personnel confiscated narcotics worth over Rs one crore in Tripura's Sepahijala area.

On Monday, the recovery was completed. According to BSF officials, the Force cordoned off the area and began a search operation after receiving specific information, and found traces of a large drum hidden in the soil.

Thirteen plastic drums filled with dry Ganja were found while digging at the site. Tripura Police were also present at the scene of the seizure and discovered 474 kgs of Ganja worth Rs 21,95,000 in the premises of a house in the village of Rangamati in the Sepahijala district of Tripura. In addition, the BSF and Tripura Police recovered 16,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 80,00,000, 439 bottles of Eskuf syrup worth Rs 82,950, and 2.6 grammes of Brown Sugar worth Rs 78,000.

On May 1, the Force recovered 5,700 Yaba tablets worth Rs 28,50,000 in the Salpokar Border Out Post's area of responsibility. The total quantity of narcotics seized in the last two days, according to police, was Rs 1,32,05,950. They also stated that the seized goods were being handed over to the appropriate agencies for action in accordance with the law.
