In an appaling case, a teenager allegedly sexually harassed a class 8 student. The victim and the accused are neighbours. The incident took place at a village within the limits of the Bisrakh police station.
According to report of Hindustan Times, the minor had stopped going to school after being constantly harassed by the accused. After being constantly harassed, the victim informed the Child Helpline Number (1098) and told them about the accused.
It was alleged that the families of the victim and the accused had issues. Initially, the victim had stated that the accused had made lewd remarks towards her.
Satya Prakash, senior manager, FXB Suraksha-childline and his team learned the grievances of the victim. The incident was then brought to the notice of district child welfare committee (CWC).
A senior police official stated that accused will be produced before the child welfare committee and was sent to a juvenile home. The case was registered against the accused at the Bisrakh police station. The victim was sent for counselling by the Childline team.
In a similar case, a nine-year-old girl was raped near a polling booth in the Kullu district. The incident took place under the Anni police station limits. The accused allegedly took the minor to a secluded place and raped her. A case was filed against the accused.
