Ranchi: A 22-year-old girlfriend was shot dead in the chest by her own 25-year-old boyfriend in Ranchi's Chanho, Jharkhand. The case is of Chalio Khakhshi Tola of Roll Panchayat. Both the deceased and her boyfriend were living in a live-in relationship. After shooting 22-year-old Khushboo, her boyfriend Raju fled from the spot.

It is being said that on the day of Vishwakarma Puja, there was a dispute between the two about something. An angry Khushboo returned to her maternal home. Boyfriend Raju was insisting on taking her back. Khushboo wasn't ready to go with him. On Monday morning, Raju along with his nephew reached the girl's house on a bike. At that time Khushboo was standing in front of her house. The criminal told her to come back but when the girl refused to go back, he dragged her inside the house and shot her in the chest. Due to the incident, Khushboo's grandmother was eating inside, while her younger brother was sleeping. By the time these people could understand something, the criminal shot and flee from the spot. As soon as the news of the incident was received, Khalari DSP Animesh Naithani and Chanho police reached the spot and sent the body to RIMS for post-mortem.

The girl's father, Jaora Oraon, lives in Ranchi with his wife and works as a mason and manages his household expenses. On the other hand, Raju Oraon used to earn his living by farming. The financial condition of both was not good. Khelari DSP Animesh Maithani said that both of them were in live-in for a year, there was a dispute over something and the boy killed the girl and fled. Police are investigating the case, soon the culprit will be arrested.
