The next development in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's legal dispute is one of the major stories generating headlines right now. Netizens are already comparing the feud between the ex-couple with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, another well-known Hollywood couple who squared off in court in the continuing dispute over their formerly joint winery.

For the uninitiated, Jolie claimed in a cross-complaint that Pitt had coerced her into signing an NDA that would prevent her from discussing Pitt's mistreatment of her and their children outside of court. Pitt's physical abuse of the kids was described in detail in the cross-complaint, which was submitted in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 4.

According to Meoww, when TMZ contacted Brad Pitt's source, they upheld their first claim that the star did not hurt or choke anyone. They asserted that while Pitt had admitted guilt in the past, the recently emerged charges were untrue. According to the source, Jolie "adds false stuff for attention, it affects the family." Due to these developments, social media users are now divided and equating Pitt's situation with that of Johnny Depp. Here are a few of their comments.

In the widely reported trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, Depp's supporters asserted that it was Heard who physically attacked Depp and not the other way around. At the same time, Heard's fans expressed their outrage about the actress' treatment on social media, complaining that a strong man like Depp had mistreated her. Drawing comparisons between their situation and that of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Pitt's supporters assert that the accusation against their hero is untrue, and Jolie's admirers are incensed that Pitt has gotten away with so many claims of abuse over the years despite her protestations.

Drawing a comparison between the two ex-couples and their cases, one user wrote, “After Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s saga, imma sit this one out as I wait for Brad Pitt’s side of the story. Sorry, Angelina Jolie, lying Amber messed it up for all genuine victims of domestic violence!” Another added, “Getting so fed up with the continued dismissiveness by Hollywood and way too many women when it comes to Brad Pitt’s – on record – abusive behavior on that plane. If this had been ANYONE else (except maybe Johnny Depp) this shit wouldn’t fly.”
